SERUM DRUG
SCREEN (Quantitative Analysis Only) (Quantitative Analysis Only)
The Serum drug screen is an ideal choice of a screen for
drugs that are frequently ingested in overdose incidents. It facilitates in proper
treatment through identification and quantitation of drugs. This is true especially when
the patient's history, discovery of pills, and the circumstances of the case suggest that
one or more of the following drugs may be involved.
SPECIMEN REQUIREMENTS
7 ml serum (5 ml min) - Use of EDTA (Lavender top) and/or plain. Red top tube is highly
recommended.
