What are CBD, Kratom, & THC

Cannabidiol (CBD)

CBD is short for Cannabidiol that is obtained from either the marijuana plant or hemp.  The main difference between these two sources is the amount or concentration of THC or more specifically Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, which is the compound that gives that "High" feeling when consumed.  In just a few years, CBD has gained tremendous popularity as the medicine of choice to treat many kinds of ailments including anxiety, convulsions, loss of appetite, and many others.  In addition, CBD is safer and has very little drawbacks as far as adverse or side effects are concerned compared to many manufactured drugs.

Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)

THC is short for tetrahydrocannabinol and is a general term for various types marijuana compounds.  The main psychoactive compound as mentioned earlier is Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol (D9THC) from the plant specie of Cannabis sativa, or from hemp plants.  The D9THC is the major marijuana compound, therefore, it is the one that will be tested from the THC Analysis.

The concentration of D9THC varies from the type and parts of the plant where it is obtained.  In general,  from the Cannabis sativa plant the leaf will contain D9THC, with the buds having a higher concentration of D9THC.  Hemp plants on the other hand has less concentration of D9THC as low as 0.30 mg.  For this reasons, it is the preferred source for obtaining CBD compound.

Kratom

Kratom has been used as a treatment for pain, and for opiod withdrawals.  The major alkaloid in Kratom is Mitragynine, and the minor alkaloid is 7-hydroxymitragynine.  Both alkaloids are heavily researched, and identified and are responsible for the effects of using Kratom.  Other alkaloids were identfied but in very small amounts.
